Flatbed is the core of what Onyx Logistics does. Our drivers are experienced open-deck operators who know tarping, securement, and the physical demands that come with flatbed work. Our equipment is spec’d for it. And our team has the operational experience to back it up.
We run 53-foot step decks with under-trailer toolboxes for gear storage, operated by drivers who meet our experience requirements and understand what it means to deliver freight that arrives the way it left. Securement equipment is provided, and we hold our drivers to a high standard when it comes to load integrity.

Our Drivers
Flatbed work is skilled work. Onyx Logistics requires a minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience, with tarping and securement experience expected. We’re not looking to train from scratch. We’re looking for drivers who know the work and want a better place to do it.
That standard shows up in how our freight is handled. Experienced drivers who take the work seriously are the foundation of a flatbed operation that shippers can rely on.
Working Directly With Shippers
We prefer direct shipper relationships over brokered arrangements. On flatbed freight especially, direct communication matters — load specifications, securement requirements, delivery windows, and site access all need to be understood clearly before a truck rolls. When you work with Onyx, you’re talking to the people managing the load, not a middleman passing messages back and forth.
