Our Story
Onyx Logistics is a younger company with experienced bones. We've been operating for about two years, but the team behind Onyx has been building and running trucking operations for well over a decade. That history informs everything: the infrastructure, the standards, the way we treat drivers, and the way we handle freight.
We specialize in flatbed, hotshot, and specialized freight, including oversized, heavy haul, and expedited loads. It's work that demands experienced drivers and a company that knows how to support them. That's what we've built.
We're still growing, and we're deliberate about how we do it. The goal has never been to be the biggest operation out there. It's to be the one drivers actually want to stay at.
Our Approach
Family-owned and family-focused means something specific at Onyx. It means the people running this company are invested in outcomes, not just outputs. Your dispatcher knows who you are. The shop is in-house. When you call after hours, a real person picks up.
Flatbed work is physical, demanding, and skilled. We don't take that for granted. Drivers who run with Onyx are treated like the experienced professionals they are, no micromanaging, no forced dispatch, no automated systems standing between you and the people you need to reach.
On the shipper side, we prefer to work directly whenever possible. It keeps the relationship clean, the communication direct, and the accountability where it belongs — with us. Oversized and expedited freight doesn't leave room for hand-offs and finger-pointing. We own the load from the first call to the final delivery.
In a business where details matter, the details we care most about are the ones that affect our drivers and our customers. Everything else follows.
